Trying to answer (investigate) a few questions:
- Who are the biggest lobby spenders?
- Is there concentration across geography?
- Are firms more (or less) "efficient" in their efforts?
Clearly entities with their EU home office in Belgium are the most prolific in terms of monies lobbied, bolstered by the most amount of team members (Members FTE) — far and away.
The lobbying money for Belgium based firms is better than half the rest of the countries.
Lots of familiar, US-based names in the list including Meta, Apple, Google, among others.
With focus on Belgium as EU Office, it’s interesting…as a measure of “efficiency” in amount of money lobbied compared to the number of “High-level European Commission meetings” that firms such as: Burson Cohn & Wolfe Sprl, FGS Global, British American Tobacco, and JT International are seem to be the most efficient (minimal amount of meetings compared to money lobbied.
Plenty more to dig in here…
